How are you celebrating Founders' Day?

Alumnae organizations are currently planning for next month's celebration. How are you celebrating? Please share by sending an email to Programming Specialist or adding a comment below.

Planning a celebration to honor our Founders is one of the required meetings for an alumnae organization – let your creative juices run wild and make 2009 the year to really celebrate these amazing women! You will find different ceremonies at www.pibetaphi.org, but you may also create your own special way to honor our Founders.

Tired of a luncheon?
  • Host a Founders’ Day Fair – members can move from station to station and play games that test their knowledge about our Founders
  • Have a Founders’ Day craft party! As part of your celebration members can create a take-home memento to remind them of those 12 special ladies.
  • Do you have a small group? Place the name of a founder on the back of each member and they need to ask questions to figure out which founder they are.
Do a joint celebration!
  • Celebrate the Founding of Pi Beta Phi with the Founding of your own club
  • Dig through your club archives for interesting facts and tidbits
  • Invite former club presidents to come and give a 1-3 minute talk on what the club was like when they were president
  • Put together a display table of pictures, news clippings & artifacts from your clubs early days.
Having your celebration at a country club?
Here are a few fun twists to make the day more exciting:
  • Have members come dressed in golf attire
  • Come dressed circa 1867
  • Bring out the HATS! Vote and award a prize to the most creative☺
Celebrate your Golden Arrows, Diamonds and Silvers along with our Founders
  • Put together a slide show of pictures of these ladies in their college days
  • Have them assist in a ceremony for our Founders
  • Make a special table for these ladies of honor
